Several ministries at the Shiloh Baptist Church have remained very active during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The volunteers in two of these ministries, the Food Pantry and Lord’s Kitchen, work tirelessly each week to provide meals for Plainfield area residents.
The mission of the Shiloh Food Pantry is to provide food, help and hope. We feel that no man, woman, boy or girl in the community should have to suffer from food insecurities as we go through tough economic times.
Food is distributed every 3rd and 4th Saturday of the month from 9:00AM – 12:00PM and every 4th Wednesday from 4:00PM – 6:00PM.
The Food Pantry distributes perishable and non-perishable food items to those in need in accordance with the guidelines of the Community Food Bank of New Jersey.
“…for I was hungry and you gave Me food.” – Matthew 35:35
The Lord’s Kitchen was created to model the love and compassion of Jesus Christ by providing a nutritious hot, well balanced meal to those in need – regardless of race, color, creed, religion, age, sex or sexual orientation. The mission is based not on a “hand out” but a loving and caring “hand up” for each person we serve.
A hot meal is served in the Shiloh Church Annex every Wednesday and Thursday between 4:00PM and 6:00PM.
“…Come and gather together for the supper of the great God.” – Revelation 19:17
