DEACONESS MINISTRY

MINISTRY BIBLE VERSE: “I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a deacon of the church in Cenchreae. I ask you to receive her in the Lord in a way worthy of his people and to give her any help she may need from you, for she has been the benefactor of many people, including me.” Romans 16:1-2 NIV

Our Mission and Purpose

A Deaconess is the faithful wife/widow of a current or former Deacon. The Deaconess Ministry is one of care in love. It’s set apart to assist the Pastor in carrying out spiritual responsibilities he deems appropriate. The Deaconess Ministry assists the Deacons where and when needed. Specifically, the Deaconess assist the Pastor in the following manner:

• Performing the ordinances of the church
• Giving support and spiritual guidance to the ministries, auxiliaries and activities of the church
• Visiting the sick, needy and distressed members
• Striving to assure harmony within the fellowship
• Achieving spiritual multiplication through Christian discipleship & spiritual reproductivity
• Preparing for and participating in baptismal & communion rites
• Initiating and responding to outreach ministries in the church, community and abroad
• Promoting/supporting the Deacon Family Ministry Plain with the Deacon’s Cell group
• Acknowledging and maintaining the six “C’s”: Chosen, Christ-like, Consecrated, Chaste, Charming, & Charitable
• Performing other duties as requested by the Pastor and the Deacon’s Ministry with a willing heart.

Deaconess must be FLAT: Faithful, Loyal, Available and Teachable

Deaconess meet once a month on 2nd Saturdays
