THE CORDIALS – “MINISTRY OF FIRST IMPRESSIONS”

MINISTRY BIBLE VERSE: “A new command I give to you: love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13: 34-35 NIV

Our Mission and Purpose: The Cordials:

• Represent an earthly expression of God’s unconditional love for all people. Cordials are the first point of contact for all worshipers who come into the church. Ministry members serve as Disciples for Christ by extending sincere greetings, warm smiles and hearty welcomes to church members, friends and visitors.
• Direct guests to church programs, services and specific locations. Cordials also help promote an awareness of church protocols that support efficient worship movement and flow in and out of the sanctuary.
• Support the Pastor, programs and other ministries in the church in a hospitable, meaningful and productive manner. Cordials frequently function as event hosts, hostesses and servants in a manner that glorifies God at church-sponsored and/or church-approved services, events and activities.

CORDIALS DUTY SCHEDULE

The Cordials Ministry consists of four teams (Groups A, B, C & D). Each team serves to greet members & guests 30 minutes prior to all worship services one Sunday per month (unless there are five Sunday’s in a month), and at other special church events. Team schedules are distributed at the beginning of the year.

MINISTRY MEETING SCHEDULE

The Cordials meet once per quarter and as needed for special events. The quarterly meeting is usually held on a Tuesday evening, prior to Bible Study. Notification is by notice in the bulletin, email and /or a call from a team leader.

OTHER DETAILS

The Cordials Ministry is responsible for delivering the “Welcome Address to Visitors” each Sunday. Individuals are assigned to present the welcome address; however ALL members should be prepared to deliver the address when called upon.
